Your life, for your own.

We all live in a world of ourselves. Of one’s own self. Yes, there are a lot of people you are related or somehow connected to, your parents, siblings, friends and partners, but at the end of the day, it’s just you. When you lie down after a long tiring day, you are doing it for yourself. For the hope of a better tomorrow. Not for anyone else’s concern. It is not selfish to think about yourself. You are you, after all. This is your life. Your choices, your decisions, your mistakes. It’s okay to not trust anyone but yourself as well. It’s safer. To keep your thoughts, your emotions to your own. Sometimes, it’s okay to care about yourself the most. In a world where people are changing all the time, switching to and from different personalities, it’s okay to just believe in yourself and be the real you. Let people accept you as you are. All of us have our very own 2 am and 2 pm personalities. Let that be kept within ourselves. It is how you deal with the person you are, understanding your own mind and heart. Hearing your own voice better. Doing something that you have been longing to do, for yourself.

When I was a kid, I used to think that the world revolved around me. For real. It’s like I made myself be the victim of everyone else. I felt like it was always about me. Sooner or later, I had to realize that everyone had a world of their own, not only me. I realized the self absorbed kid that I was. It was a relief, cause I was just a small part in this huge amusing world.

It is selfish to think about yourself only, but it’s okay to be selfish sometimes. Putting one self’s need ahead of others, that’s common sense. Care and feel for others, that is what we always do. But treating yourself the same way, that is most important.
